So beautiful, Päivi! I think I see some of Kandinsky’s ideas coming through in this one and am looking forward to trying this. I am very conflicted when it comes to abstract art-loving much of it, but fear it too. I seem to be blocked when trying to do it myself.

It is absolutely stunning! Every time when I look at the final result I get overwhelmed with emotions, mainly strong and powerful, as if it gives courage just by looking at it.
I am definitely going to try this at home, after I finished the Dramatic Peonies from last week 😉

Love the abstract. I try to pay attention, in my work and in yours, to size of shapes and color distribution.

When you speak of painting that is inspired by going through a dark time, I am reminded of the term my mother used to describe me and my dad – having sisu. I think painting “through a gray stone” and even if flowers make their way into the painting, the colors (especially yellow tones) uplift our spirits. I so enjoy your weekly posts. Very informative.
