Thank you, Kathleen! It's nice to hear that you love and write poems as well. I know the struggles with vocabulary, I have them so much, especially in this post when translating the poem! I am looking forward to seeing your art inspired by poems!!

Hi Paivi,
I enjoyed reading your post. Your painting is so uplifting and light, it really connects to my soul.
I have been writing poems for many years of my experiences mainly in the Australian bush on my walks but sometimes children, pets or romance.
My struggle is always that my language is fairly basic and not very literary, and doesn't have much metaphorical content. After attending book club with a few teachers I realize my knowledge of the English language is sadly lacking.
I do occasionally come across one of my poems on scraps of paper though, when tidying up and It takes me back to the moment I wrote it.
I will definitely be giving painting poems a try.
Thankyou for your insightful blog

I like the way you seem to have captured the aurora borealis in your painting. I too have enjoyed reading and writing poetry over the years. I have a collection of my own nature poems, which I would love to try illustrating....maybe I will give this a go in the New Year. Best wishes.

This painting is so beautiful it made me cry. I think it may be my favorite of all your paintings. The way you described painting the essence of the poem touched my heart. It made me remember how I also used to write poetry, and how I've struggled to express those inner realms both in writing and in art.
