Thank you, Barbara! Negative painting is an essential technique when painting in watercolor, so yes, for example Magical Forest has lots of that!

My watercolor set has many different brands. I buy a pan and place it there or squeeze some to an empty pan that fits. I like, for example, Schminke, Daniel Smith, Roman Szmal … I buy artist quality mostly.

To get more color on the brush, wet the pans before you start painting. To get a layered look with intense tones, use several watery layers on top of each other so that you dry each layer before adding a new one.
