Drawing Soulfully

Drawing Soulfully – Awaken Your Line And Find a Way to Your Style!

Drawing Soulfully is an online art course about expressing yourself through drawing. You will awaken your soulful line, grow your skills, and embark on a journey toward your own unique style. As much as drawing, this course is about building your artistry, stroke by stroke.

3 Parts in 3 Months – From August 25 to November 20, 2026

Drawing Soulfully starts on August 25, 2026, and ends on November 20, 2026. You will receive a new part—each packed with several projects—on the last Tuesday of August, September, and October. The course includes videos and written complementary materials.

Your line is your voice. Just like for a singer, a great voice isn’t just about physical technique — it’s about connecting your voice to the soul.

September 29 – Part 2, Draw What You Love

Grow your technical skills and use reference images creatively!

Drawing a leaf

Discover what you truly love to draw! Learn how to build a drawing from everything that inspires you, and overcome the hesitation to draw unconventionally.

October 27 -Part 3, Find Your Perspective!

Develop your ability to be inside the drawing, not only looking at it from the outside!

Drawing freely

Style is the how, but perspective is what takes you there. Instead of repeatedly asking how, the focus is now on the why and where. The perspective is the angle you use to look at a subject, draw it, or think about it.

By stepping inside the drawing, you will also find your path to a more abstract expression.

Supplies and Mindset

Black thin-tipped drawing pens are the most important supplies in the course. The teacher uses Copic Fineliners (0.3, 0.5, 0.8) and the Copic Gasenfude brush pen. For some exercises, you also need a pencil and an eraser. For coloring, you can use colored pencils, watercolor pencils, watercolors, and gouache paints. The teacher uses watercolors, and for some exercises, the combination of watercolors and colored pencils. Choose the paper that is suitable for your supplies. The teacher uses thick drawing paper (Fabriano 200 gsm/94 lbs), but smooth watercolor paper works great too.

Art supplies for the online course

More than supplies, a curious mindset is needed. Be prepared to dive deeper into drawing and making art in general. The exercises are not about following examples stroke by stroke. This course is about adopting the artist’s mindset. You will get plenty of advice, but also questions to ponder and ideas to explore. Drawing Soulfully isn’t about narrowing things down, but about widening your eyes and exploring all the possibilities with your awakened line.

Your Teacher – Päivi Eerola

Artist Päivi Eerola

My journey to becoming a full-time artist started with finding my line.

At first, my line was barely breathing. It was stiff and straight, and when I tried to bend it, it became a hastily drawn circle. But the more I drew, the more I learned about opening up. The circles didn’t close so eagerly anymore. I realized that by letting my line live longer on the paper, I was able to put more of my presence into it. My living line became my joy, and the very foundation of my art. I use it not only in my drawings but also in big canvases.

When a living line not only breathes, but also feels, it becomes soulful. A soulful line travels freely not only on paper, but also in three-dimensional space in your mind. Then, it’s no longer just about drawing—it’s about imagining in a way that takes any visual art to the next level. This is how I found my style—not by asking how, but by asking where.
