How Classes Work
Technical information on how to access the class material. There are not many requirements and no special technical skills are needed. Welcome to my classes!
General Requirements
The classes are in electronic format. You will need:
- Internet access
- personal email account
- a device that can save information, for example, a desktop computer, a tablet, or a phone, and free disk space
- a program or app that can open PDF documents
Please notice that Paivi’s classes are for adults.
Class in Nutshell
Videos are the core content of the class. When you purchase the class, you will get the download link for a PDF document. The document contains links to the videos. The document also has complementary information as text and images.
Download the document onto your computer or tablet. When you want to continue the course, open the local PDF document file, and access the videos by using the links in the document.
With the class, you will also get an annual membership for the Bloom and Fly community on Facebook. There you can connect with Paivi and other participants of Paivi’s classes.
Downloading After Purchasing
After the payment, you will get a download page. Download the course right away, because the download link expires within a few days.
If you are using a computer, click the download link. See the Downloads folder to find the document. Move it to a folder where you want to save it.
Most tablets don’t start downloading automatically. If you are using a handheld device, choose to download the file after clicking the download. Open the Files app to find the file. If you are using an iPad, you can also save the file to the Books app if you like that app better.
When you want to get back to the class, open the local document on your device. The download link is only meant to be used once and will stop working over time.
If you accidentally didn’t download the document, contact paivi@peonyandparakeet.com and she will email you a new download link. Please notice, that Paivi lives in Finland, perhaps in a different time zone, so the answer may not be immediate, but she will get back to you as soon as she can, usually within a day or two.
Opening the Document
Go to your local folder and open the downloaded document. You will need a program or app that can open documents that have the PDF format. The best program is Adobe Acrobat Reader. It’s free and designed for PDF documents. There are also many other programs that can open PDF documents.
Please notice that the class document is read-only and you can’t open it for editing. If you get a password query when trying to open the document, your program tries to edit it. You need a program that can open the documents for reading only.
Most tablets and phones have apps that can open PDF documents. For example, an iPad has the Books app which is very good at opening and saving PDF documents.
Accessing the Videos
The document contains the links to the class videos. Click the links in the document to access the videos. The videos are password-protected. The password is under each video link in the document. Enter the password after clicking the video link. You will then get to a page where you can watch the video.
The video page has a download link to the video. If you download videos, you will also need a program or an app to view and download MP4 videos.
Joining the Community
After purchasing the class, you will get the confirmation email that has the link to register your name, email, and country to the Bloom and Fly community.
The Bloom and Fly community has a discussion group on Facebook. After entering your information, you will get the link to the Facebook group. To join the group, you will need a Facebook account. Please answer the membership questions when you send your request to join.
You have to be over 18 to join the Bloom and Fly community.
Paivi will send a few emails during the year to all the members of Bloom and Fly. So, even if you weren’t on Facebook, it’s good to register yourself as a member.
Keeping the Class “Forever”
You can access the class material as long as you want if you download the document and the videos to your computer within 6 months of the purchase.
