Put Thoughts and Feelings into Your Art

A Dream, intuitive art, a watercolor painting with colored pencils and white gesso by Peony and Parakeet.

I am excited to start the fall season with a video blog post! I will create the mixed media painting above from start to finish and show the atmosphere of my creative space as authentically as I can. I will also talk about Inspirational Drawing, my online drawing workshop that will begin in September!

  1. OMG!
Your work is so INSPIRATIONAL, wonderful,
and beautiful. You make it look so easy. Kiitoksia hirveesti!!! 🙂
Mie voin kattoo yhtä siun piirrustusta/maalausta pitkän aikaa ja löytää uusia mielenkiintoisia kohteita. You are truly really amazing!
Thank you for sharing your gift of drawing and imagination through your web-page for people like me who could not othervise be able to admire it.

  2. Watching that profile emerge was totally fascinating! I have signed up for your class and am eagerly looking forward to Sept.!

  3. Thank you so much, how much I love your art, this is amazing. I want to try one day… Always fascinates me. I shared with my readers your video and your blog. With my love, nia

  4. Another beautiful creation. I had to replay the beginning 2 or 3 times to see how the face appeared. Had my colored pencils out yesterday, added some color to a watercolor — learned so much from your class.

  5. I have watched this video twice now, just the kind of movies I like! Fascinating and inspiring! I am sooo thankful I found you Paivi!

  6. love all of your work learn so much from you paivi love your very interesting approach

  7. This video was wonderful! Thank you so much for doing it. I have drawn and painted countless works of art–in my mind! I was taught to believe that art was foolish, and I should pursue a career that was sensible. Now that I’m 54 years old, I’m finally letting go of those old beliefs and starting to explore art again. Looking forward to taking your class; just watching this video has been liberating. Thank you.

    1. Thank you, Mary! So great to hear that you have come back to art and I am certain you will have great time at the class. After the class, you can continue recreating the exercises, as there are different results each time!

  8. Great video, I was saving the email for this post and then got the You Tube one and just watched. I loved the tips and enjoyed your opera music. The music and the art work may be coming together more for me. I have not been much of an opera lover in the past. The majesty of the music and your art ant what you teach all of us as I said, comes together! Thank you

  9. Thank you Paivi for your wonderful video.I understood everything that you spoke about, so much so that it brought me to tears…… from relief not sadness. It was like I could take a big breath and I am now travelling on the right road for me. I have signed up for your course and cannot wait. I am so grateful that I have found a teacher like you.
